WWE Monday Night RAW recently commemorated its 30th anniversary with a special edition of the show, titled RAW XXX. The show saw some of the greatest WWE superstars, both from the past and present, exciting segments and exhilarating matches for RAW turning 30. The event was also graced by the Nature Boy Ric Flair, who opened up about his experience and his encounter with Becky Lynch backstage.

Becky Lynch has been credited as a trailblazer in the movement that came to be known as the Women’s Revolution. However, Becky underwent a complete career resurgence back in 2018 that changed everything for her.

Right after she slapped Charlotte Flair at WWE SummerSlam 2018, Becky Lynch adopted the persona of ‘The Man’, which skyrocketed her popularity. Lynch’s new gimmick and attitude made her one of the biggest names in the industry and led her to win the main event of WrestleMania 35.

However, this did not seem well with Ric Flair. The Nature Boy laid claim to the name ‘The Man’ and even was believed to have a trademark over it. Moreover, Flair had a big issue over Becky Lynch using the name. Flair opened up about apologizing to Becky Lynch over the heat between them and meeting her husband Seth Rollins backstage on RAW XXX. He spoke about this during the latest episode of his “To Be The Man” podcast.

“It started out with me and Hunter talking for about an hour, which is a private discussion, but resolving a lot of issues that have been lingering for a couple years, and then I apologized to Becky Lynch. I walked up to her and said, ‘May I speak with you for a minute’, and I said, ‘I’m sorry that this got to where it is.’ I went over and shook Seth Rollins hand and I said, ‘I’m going to apologize to your wife. I’ve just decided that, you know, it all comes with the documentary. Sometimes you get so wrapped up in things that you just forget, and you say it so many times for so many years. Actually, the whole ‘The Man’ trademark was decided by someone besides she and I. It’s not that as much as the money that was involved in it which the company reaps the better part of it anyway. Then I saw them with their child and I thought, ‘My God, this is going to be Ashley someday.’ It’s not worth it. I am not The Man anymore. The Man is who the people think it is, and basically we’ve turned it over to social media to decide who The Man is.”

Right after accepting that he is not The Man anymore, Ric Flair revealed that she and Becky Lynch have left it to social media to pick who deserves the moniker. Furthermore, Flair also spoke about his overall experience at RAW XXX.

“It was phenomenal. I gotta tell you, I learned more about myself and more about what I’ve missed in the business and what I hadn’t missed in one day because I haven’t been here for a long time. I felt like I was respected. I felt like I was wanted. I felt like I was part of it again. I walked away a better man with a better understanding of who I am as a person and what the business is about.”

Ric Flair will always be one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time. However, it can be argued that it is Becky Lynch who proudly carries the legacy of the moniker “The Man” in today’s generation.
