The pro wrestling world lost Jay Briscoe last week. The Ring of Honor icon was involved in a car accident. Jay’s daughters were hurt in the wreck as well. Thankfully, they survived the crash. ROH taped a tribute show for the late great tag team specialist. Tonight, Jay’s brother Mark Briscoe finally made his long-anticipated AEW debut.

Mark Briscoe made his AEW debut during Wednesday Night Dynamite tonight. The ROH World Tag Team Champion squared off against his late brother’s former rival Jay Lethal in the main event of the show. The showing was incredibly emotional for the two stars, who put on a great match for the fans to watch.

Tonight’s edition of Dynamite featured an emotional Jay Briscoe tribute package as well. The vignette showcased the professional as well as private live of the late veteran. According to Tony Khan, the main event match was requested by both Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal.

As previously reported, Tony Khan successfully convinced the executives at WarnerBros Discovery to let Mark Briscoe wrestle on national television. The management had shunned Khan’s attempts to have the Briscoes on AEW shows in the past.

It was also noted that AEW brought in a few extra names after Mark Briscoe’s match was announced. The roster was extremely happy to lean about Mark’s match on Wednesday Night Dynamite.

It’s great to see a Briscoe finally be able to wrestle on national television. We’ll have to wait to see what Tony Khan has in store for Mark Briscoe and the ROH World Tag Team Championship in the wake of Jay’s untimely passing. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more.
