The 30th anniversary of Monday Night RAW was nothing short of a mixed bag, covering thirty years of the flagship show’s history. While it had some incredible highs, there had been quite a few lows during the show as well. That being said, it seems a controversial former WWE Superstar was allegedly contacted for a return.
Triple H took over as the head of WWE Creative following Vince McMahon’s brief retirement last year. The Game ended up changing quite a few aspects of the company, which fans loved.
He brought back several Superstars who were previously released. Renee Dupree signed with WWE back in 2002 and made his main roster debut just a year later. Dupree worked four years as an active in-ring star on Monday Night RAW and SmackDown.
Rene Dupree eventually asked for his release back in 2007 and has not been back to the company since. While speaking on the latest episode of his Cafe de Rene podcast, Dupree claimed that WWE asked him to return to the company.
“I was contacted by the WWE. Well, an agent contacted someone that I’ve known for years and that person contacted me. But it’s not in the cards. I’m sorry everyone. But yes, they (…) I mean, I still keep it a secret but there was talks of, anyway.”
During a previous episode of his podcast, Renee Dupree talked about his time working with Triple H. He called The Game a ‘dick,’ among other things.
“I thought he was a d*ck. [Did he say something in particular that pissed you off?] Ugh, just an a**hole. But there’s times like a very few times, but the few times, and I noticed whenever he’d be complimentary of me it meant so much. Because he was always just like a snob f**king make these off-handed comments, right? Then when he actually complimented me, I felt like, ‘wow! it’s so cool.’ And he, you know. But overall, he was a d*ck,”
We will have to wait and see whether Renee Dupree will ever make his way back to the company. By the looks of it, that might not be happening anytime soon.
