For well over two years now, WWE has been releasing several talents and members of staff, right from the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Quite a few unexpected talents were released by WWE, and this included Nigel McGuinness. Many fans were surprised to see McGuinness released from the company. Now, it seems he finally broke his silence after his WWE release.
Nigel McGuinness was one of the most exciting superstars to make a name for themselves in Ring of Honor. The former WWE color commentator is also known to hang in the ring with the likes of Bryan Danielson, Jimmy Rave, and Chris Hero.
As previously reported, Nigel McGuinness was released from his WWE contract. This ended up shocking many fans, as they believed Nigel McGuinness was sticking with WWE for the long run.
Nigel McGuinness had yet to comment publicly since his departure from WWE, but took to Twitter yesterday on his 47th birthday to send his appreciation to the fans for supporting him.
Appreciate all the kind wishes. Good year ahead.
WWE’s releases are still ongoing, but we haven’t seen a sweeping release for talent in a while. They did recently cut several office workers, including a couple shocking firings, like Adam Hopkins, as well.
Byron Saxton, who replaced McGuinness on Level Up, provides commentary alongside Matt Camp now. We’ll have to see what the future holds for McGuiness in the future.
