Sasha Banks is regarded as one of the best female professional wrestlers of all time, and it’s not hard to see why. She became the talk of the town after walking out on WWE RAW last year. Following a ton of speculation and rumors, Banks made her way to NJPW as Mercedes Mone. She is also expected to compete in Japan soon and now her schedule has been revealed.
Sasha Banks made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17, where she debuted as ‘The CEO’ Mercedes Mone. She came out after KAIRI’s successful title defense against Tam Nakano. Fans were simply elated to see Mercedes after her debut and just wanted her to succeed.
Mone is set to challenge KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW Battle in the Valley in San Jose on February 18. However, she is also set to compete in Japan.
While speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Mercedes Mone’s schedule for her first matches in Japan.
“The first Mercedes match is obviously gonna be in San Jose. Mercedes will be at the Sumo Hall show which will be her first match in Japan, and I believe her second match in Japan will be on the STARDOM show at the Yokohama Arena, those are both in April.”
There was also a good reason for Mercedes Mone’s lackluster live reaction to her debut in NJPW. There is the belief that Mercedes Mone will be following in Brock Lesnar’s footsteps after her NJPW debut. It remains to be seen if Mone will end up beating KAIRI for the title next month, as fans would love that to happen.
