The Briscoe Brothers dominated the pro wrestling world, being heralded as one of the greatest tag teams of all time and winning tag team told in every company they were in. Jay Briscoe’s loss left a huge hole in not only tag team wrestling, but the entire landscape as a whole.
The Briscoes’ family friend, Josh Wharton, recently released a statement from Mark Briscoe after going live on Facebook. Wharton provided details regarding a recent phone call he had with Mark Briscoe regarding his mental health.
“He answered the phone, just the most chipper I’ve ever heard him. The one thing that stuck out to me, he said, ‘I can’t imagine going through this not being a believer.’ He realizes that our time here on Earth is a small glimpse in existence.
He realizes that we’re going to see him again and he’s hoping to use that as a tool to motivate people to get into heaven with us. He sent a text that says, ‘GOD IS ON THE THRONE. That’s all I got bro.’ The man has been through a lot and he still has his faith. He’s going to carry on the Pugh and Briscoe name proudly.”
That being said, WarnerBros Discovery still won’t let Mark Briscoe compete on AEW television after his brother’s death. Regardless, Mark Briscoe is going through a lot right now and we continue to send him our best wishes and support.
