When we speak about dangerous and unorthodox in WWE, one name that comes near the top is Karrion Kross. The former independent star has made a name for himself in various promotions and is looking to replicate that similar success in the global juggernaut. Recently, Kross claimed that his on-screen persona is not only a character, but more than that.
Karrion Kross began his career in the wrestling business in 2015 in Global Force Wrestling. He then went on to wrestle for other promotions such as Lucha Libre AAA, IMPACT Wrestling, and Major League Wrestling.
Furthermore, Karrion Kross arrived in WWE in 2020 alongside his real-life wife, Scarlett Bordeaux. His arrival signaled the beginning of a dominant run in the former black and gold brand, with Kross establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with.
Karrion Kross reached the pinnacle of NXT by defeating Keith Lee at NXT TakeOver XXX to win the NXT championship. Although he was sidelined right after that match due to an injury, Kross returned months later and recaptured the title from Finn Balor in 2021.
However, after a failed stint on the main roster, Karrion Kross was released by WWE shortly after his call-up. But the former NXT champion returned to the company under Triple H’s regime in 2022 looking to climb the ladder of success once again.
Karrion Kross recently shared some insight on his onscreen character, calling himself a dark energy in a room that manifests as a person, comparing it to the energy of a person inside a haunted house. Kross spoke about this during an interview with Muscle & Fitness.
“I like to think of Karrion Kross, not actually as a human being. I like to think of him as a very dark energy in the room. “Like, when you walk into a place that you know you shouldn’t be, late at night, like a haunted house or something. You know you shouldn’t be there, but you feel like you should stay because you are about to see something that you are not going to be able to see anywhere else! He is the dark energy in the room, manifesting as a person.”
Karrion Kross’ feud with Drew McIntyre upon his return was widely appreciated by the fans and critics. It could be in no time that we see doomsday prevail over a major championship with Kross earning the taste of championship gold on the main roster.
