WWE Monday Night RAW is about to reach a historic milestone with the celebration of its 30th anniversary. The special episode titled, RAW XXX is set to emanate from the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, on January 24th, and is looking to be one of the most memorable editions in the history of the show. However, it looks like we have some spoilers regarding plans for one legend appearing on the show, Kurt Angle.
Kurt Angle debuted in WWE back in 1999, at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. He proved himself to be a mega star in sports entertainment, coming from a background of amateur and freestyle wrestling experience that led him to a gold medal in the Olympics.
On the other hand, RAW XXX is set to feature an ensemble list of superstars from the current roster and legends of the past. Some of those legends to join alongside Kurt Angle include The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and more.
The special edition of Monday Night RAW is also set to present some exciting matches featuring top-tier WWE superstars of today. The matches advertised for the show include Bayley vs Becky Lynch in a steel cage match, an explosive RAW tag team title match between The Bloodline and The Judgment Day, and Austin Theory taking on Bobby Lashley with his US title on the line.
However, according to FightFul Select, Kurt Angle’s role may be beyond just appearing on the show. The report suggests that the Olympic Hero was slated to be the special referee for one of the matches on RAW.
Kurt Angle was slated to be a special ref for Monday
It is currently unknown which match Kurt Angle will officiate. However, Angle’s last experience as a special guest referee was during the Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher in 2020. We will have to see who shares the ring with the Olympic Hero this time, because Thatcher was released, and Matt Riddle is still out of commission since his kayfabed injury that was actually a failed drug test.
Which match do you think Kurt Angle would referee on RAW XXX if that is indeed the slated plan? Sound off in the comments!
