Thunder Rosa proved herself as one of the most exhilarating and exciting additions to the AEW women’s division. However, she has been absent for quite some time now due to an injury and provided the latest update on when she plans to return.

The former AEW Women’s World champion suffered a back injury and has been out of action since August 2022. She revealed that she will be back on the road with AEW soon during an interview with Busted Open Radio.

“Since we’re talking about AEW, I’m probably going to be coming back on the road pretty soon. Not to wrestle, but we’re going to be out at AEW and showing face and being around all this stuff. It’s going to be nice to be around everyone and see how things unfold.”

Thunder Rosa made her debut for AEW on an August 22nd, 2020, episode of Dynamite, where she laid a title match challenge to then-AEW Women’s World champion Hikaru Shida. Rosa’s debut itself showed signs that she had arrived to rise to the top.

The 36-year-old wrestler had a great start with AEW, battling the likes of Serena Deeb, Jamie Hayter, and Rebel. However, Thunder Rosa’s most notable program came with Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D, over the AEW Women’s World title.

The Role Model and the former MMA Fighter had some of the greatest women’s matches in professional wrestling. But it was finally at the St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition of Dynamite in March 2022 that Thunder Rosa finally dethroned Britt Baker to capture the Women’s championship.

Although it is still unclear when Thunder Rosa plans to compete in the ring next, her comments surely indicate that she could return to the road in a non-wrestling role. This could maintain her presence on AEW programming until she is finally healthy and ready to go.
