The wrestling world experienced a huge loss as Jay Briscoe passed away at the age of 38. His untimely passing led to an outpouring of support and prayers on social media. The pain of his loss will be felt for a long time, but fans and pro wrestlers alike continue to give his family monetary support. In fact, Jay Briscoe’s memorial fundraiser has now smashed its original goal of $50K by a huge margin.
The ROH Hall of Famer was tragically involved in a fatal car accident on Tuesday evening. The Delaware State Police confirmed that another driver crossed the center line and collided with his vehicle head-on. The police are currently investigating the incident.
As previously reported, a donation page was set up by Briscoe’s family friend for fans to offer their help for the Pugh family. As soon as the donation page was set up, it ended up smashing its original goal of $50k in a couple of hours, and then the goal was moved to $100k.
We have more good news to report as the donation page has now reached $208,086, while the maximum goal was $200,000. Therefore, they ended up getting four times the original goal and fans couldn’t be happier about this fact.
The Young Bucks were two of the biggest contributors, donating $10K each. Chris Jericho also donated $15 himself. It is certain Jay Briscoe’s family will be taken care of thanks to all the money the page managed to get.
