WWE is doubling down on its future under the new regime. Just a couple of years, WWE revamped it developmental brand NXT to include several young talents who were signed to a contract. Since then, they have been on a hiring spree.
The Stanford-based company has been hiring successful collegiate-level athletes like NFL players, track stars, NCAA stars etc. A couple of months ago, WWE introduced its new class of recruits at the Performance Center.
Now, it hasn’t slowed down the recruiting process, either. PW Insider recently reported that WWE has signed Ezekiel Balogun to an NXT contract. Ezekiel is a former 6’6″ basketball player who played for North Florida Ospreys in the NCAA. Balogun boasts an impressive physique and has the right look to be a WWE Superstar.
WWE also signed track and field star Alexis Grey to an NXT contract. Alexis is from Texas Southern University and graduated in 2019 with a degree in Biology with a concentration in Chemistry.
It’s good to see WWE focusing on the future by signing several young talents. It will be interesting to see what these men and women will accomplish after making their debut.
We will have to see who WWE signs next. Their Next In Line program is certainly providing a great pipeline for talent so far. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more developments on this story.
