Sami Zayn’s journey from self-proclaimed locker room leader to Honorary Uce of The Bloodline is a testament to “where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Having lost respect and credibility in the locker room, Zayn began seeking favor with The Bloodline on the April 22nd episode of WWE SmackDown, and the rest is history.
In recent weeks, WWE teased a match between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn, as Kevin Owens is also heavily involved. While the WWE Universe is intrigued by the possibilities, few want to see the Bloodline’s breakup.
In an interview with The Detroit News, Sami Zayn discussed his current run with The Bloodline. The Honorary Uce didn’t shy away from declaring his love for the WWE Title, fueling a potential feud with Roman Reigns yet again.
“When you get this close and you’re in the in the periphery of the WWE Title, it makes you think, well, I’m already here, maybe winning it’s not totally unrealistic. That would for sure be like a cherry on top of everything else. If it happens, awesome. If it doesn’t happen, it still would have all been awesome. I mean really, since I can’t even tell you how early into my career, probably three years in, I remember thinking, well, this is it, it can’t get better than this.
And then somehow each year, it just kept getting bigger and bigger. You would think I would learn at this point to stop saying it, but I am also content with everything I’ve done. I don’t want to be the type of person who feels like, oh, there’s a void unless I get this next thing, and if I don’t accomplish this, I’m a failure or my career was a failure. Whatever happens, I’m good. It could end tomorrow, and knock on wood, I really hope it doesn’t, but I would feel very complete and very satisfied with everything I’ve ever done. At this point, everything’s gravy.”
Last week on SmackDown, Sami Zayn took on Kevin Owens in singles action. The match failed to yield a clear winner after The Usos interfered and unleashed an assault on Owens. The Prizefighter got his revenge this week on RAW.
Sami Zayn has had his fair share of struggles in his Bloodline journey. At Survivor Series WarGames, Zayn proved his loyalty to the faction by delivering a low blow to Kevin Owens. Jey Uso finally accepted Zayn as part of The Bloodline as the stable celebrated their victory.
The next development in the Bloodline storyline is the upcoming Bloodline Acknowledgement Ceremony at RAW 30 on January 23rd. It remains to be seen how things will play out for Sami Zayn on that date considering every generation of The Bloodline will partake in the special ceremony.
