The Elite, comprising Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, were in a longstanding feud with Death Triangle over the past few months. They feuded over the Trios Tag Team Titles, and both teams gave their all. The final match in their best of 7 series ended last week, but it seems the match almost didn’t happen.

On last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, The Elite faced Death Triangle in the final match of their best of 7 series. In the end, The Elite were able to put away Death Triangle to become the new champions.

On the latest episode of BTE, the Young Bucks shared that the lead-up to last week’s AEW Dynamite event in Los Angeles was incredibly stressful. The match in question was the ladder match for the AEW Trios Championship. Matt Jackson jokingly mentioned that he may not be able to tell the story in-depth. Now more information regarding what Jackson said has been revealed.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer daily update, it was revealed that the match almost didn’t happen as one of the participants in the match had visa issues. Thankfully, the issues were resolved the day before the show.

“The issue was that one of the wrestlers in the match had a visa issue and they didn’t know until Tuesday night if the Game Seven match would take place. But the issue was cleared up on Tuesday.”

The Elite were crowned the inaugural AEW Trios Champions as crowned at All Out, but had to relinquish the titles after the backstage brawl that ensued after the event. We will have to wait and see how The Elite will be booked as the champions in the coming weeks
