Vince McMahon took over headlines in July 2022, when he was involved in a hush-money scandal. The pro wrestling community couldn’t believe someone like McMahon would be taken down like that. However, Mr. McMahon made a surprise return and quickly took hold of the company again, first joining the Board of Directors, and then becoming the Executive Chairman. In fact, Vince McMahon might even make his return to television too, which is now a popular opinion within the company.
Vince McMahon’s return to the Board of Directors was met with a lot of criticism, as McMahon ruthlessly got what he wanted, without a thought about anyone else. He was appointed as the Executive Chairman of WWE after Stephanie McMahon handed in her resignation, leaving Nick Khan as the sole CEO.
This news about Vince McMahon returning to the company infuriated many fans, as they expressed concern about McMahon’s return to the position of Chairman of the Board. Being the majority shareholder, McMahon’s return was simply inevitable, because he could have pulled the trigger any time he wanted to.
Ringside News exclusively reported that Vince McMahon returned to the WWE offices in Stamford last week. He also brought back Brad Blum as his Chief of Staff, just a month and a half after WWE fired him.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Vince McMahon’s WWE return. Meltzer noted that there is a feeling backstage in WWE that he will return to television soon.
‘Vince is at the office, he hasn’t been to TV yet. But I say probably ‘yet’.There’s certainly rumors running around that he will, I’ve asked people and they wouldn’t be surprised. But it’s not like there’s a date.
There’s that feeling that Vince is gonna want to go out on TV and he’ll get the big reaction when he does.
But he is in the office, he is talking about things other than the sale, and I think there’ll probably be more and more Vince fingerprints as time goes on. As far as creative goes, it just depends on… if Vince wants it, he’ll work to get it.”
Rumors have also suggested that Vince McMahon could be making his television return at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. Despite McMahon’s return, Triple H will continue in his new role as leader of the company’s creative direction, for the time being. We’ll have to see when McMahon will return to WWE television.
