Vince McMahon dominated headlines back in 2022 when he was involved in a hush-money scandal. The pro-wrestling community were utterly shocked to the core due to this and everything else that transpired afterward. However, McMahon made a surprise return and quickly took hold of the company again, first joining the Board of Directors, and then becoming the Executive Chairman. In fact, McMahon might just fire Triple H’s new hires if he regains full control.
Vince McMahon’s return to the Board of Directors was directly compared to a hostile takeover, as McMahon ruthlessly got what he wanted, without a care for how others felt. He was appointed as the Executive Chairman of WWE after Stephanie McMahon resigned, leaving Nick Khan as the sole CEO.
This news about Vince McMahon’s WWE return disappointed many fans, as they expressed worries about McMahon’s return to the position of Chairman of the Board. Even then, McMahon will do whatever he wants to do, and that’s never changing. It is his company as majority shareholder, so he never had to really retire in the first place.
During a mailbag to PW Insider, Dave Scherer was asked a question about Vince McMahon firing everyone that Triple H hired back over the last few months, from Dexter Lumis to William Regal. The general assumption is that if Vince McMahon does regain creative control, then his opinion about people that he fired in the first place isn’t likely to change.
IF, he does, and I will say IF because I don’t want to assume he will take over creative since it would really hurt my enjoyment of the company, yes everyone who he saw nothing in before he probably won’t see anything in at that time.
Vince McMahon was also accused of blackmailing his way back into WWE. Vince McMahon’s return to WWE has also been compared to that of Walt Disney in a huge way.
As Ringside News exclusively reported, Mr. McMahon returned to WWE’s offices this week, and he brought back Brad Blum as his Chief of Staff, a month and a half after WWE fired Blum. We’ll have to see whether McMahon will end up regaining full control of WWE again.
