Kurt Angle has accomplished a lot of things during his pro wrestling career. This includes winning multiple World Titles and beating the most legendary of pro wrestlers on the planet. He has also worked with Stephanie McMahon in WWE over the years. McMahon recently resigned from WWE, which shocked fans. Now it seems even Angle can’t believe she resigned.
Following Vince McMahon’s retirement last year, Stephanie McMahon was made the co-CEO of the company alongside Nick Khan. The two, along with Triple H, made a lot of changes to WWE’s overall product.
Those changes to WWE made fans happy, for the most part, as they finally got a product that was a pipe dream for so long. However, all good things eventually come to an end as Stephanie McMahon suddenly resigned from her position earlier this week following Vince McMahon’s return to WWE.
While speaking on the latest episode of the Kurt Angle Show podcast, Kurt Angle, who has a lot of history with Stephanie McMahon, talked about her sudden departure from WWE. The Olympic Gold Medalist made it clear that he was very surprised Stephanie McMahon would ever decide to resign from something shell loved to the core.
“I’m surprised. I didn’t expect Stephanie to resign. I’m not sure if she did it because of her father, but she is a classy woman. She was a great employer. she reminded me a lot of Vince in many ways. I think that’s why he trusted the company with her, but I’m just really surprised that she resigned.”
Kurt Angle recently stated that he regrets never winning a Royal Rumble, but his days in the ring are over. That being said, the WWE Hall of Famer wouldn’t reject a huge payday to work a Saudi Arabia show, a country that just so happens to be a perspective buyer of WWE.
Stephanie McMahon was also visibly frustrated with Vince McMahon dismantling her team. Her WWE exit also raised flags within the company. She was also thought to be sick of pro wrestling before her resignation. It remains to be seen if Stephanie McMahon returns to her father’s company in the future.
