Xavier Woods is a member of The New Day and has had a tremendous career in WWE so far. Woods has won tag team gold on numerous occasions and remains a mainstay of any brand he is on. Unfortunately, he is still a human being at the end of the day and is susceptible to injuries. In fact, Woods is currently out of action due to being banged up.
Xavier Woods saw a lot of success as a tag team specialist, winning several tag team titles throughout his career with his fellow New Day brethren. Woods has not wrestled since teaming with Kofi Kingston and Madcap Moss for a six-man win over Imperium at the December 27th WWE Supershow in Atlanta.
WWE did an angle during the event where Xavier Woods was shown attacked backstage before Kofi Kingston, Madcap Moss and Emma defeated Legado del Fantasma’s Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde and Zelina Vega.
According to PW Insider, Xavier Woods is currently banged up and not cleared for in-ring competition. It was further reported that Woods is expected to make a full recovery by the time the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event begins, on January 28th.
PWInsider.com is told Xavier Woods is banged up and not yet 100% cleared, which is why New Day hasn’t been seen more inside the ring. The expectation internally is that he should be good to go by Royal Rumble, if not sooner. Woods worked in Kofi Kingston’s corner at last night’s live event in Huntsville, Alabama.
This week’s WWE NXT episode will see Pretty Deadly run a three-team Gauntlet in order to get a shot at the NXT Tag team Championships. We’ll have to wait and see whether Xavier Woods recovers in time for that match.
