The biggest story going around in the wrestling world surrounds the return of the most powerful individual in the business, Vince McMahon. The Boss’ intent to sell off his business is cited as one of the prime reasons for his return. However, that might not be the case even when his comeback is completely formalized.

Vince McMahon retired from WWE back in July 2022 after being alleged of various sexual misconduct and hush money scandals. However, Vince was recently reinstated as a part of the WWE Board of Directors and is looking to regain control as Executive Chairman in an attempt to sell the global juggernaut.

Even with Vince McMahon’s resurgence, there is no assurance that it will indeed lead to WWE being sold. WWE’s recent press release indicates that McMahon’s return is to maximize the long-term value of WWE shareholders, while also mentioning that there is no guarantee that the sale of the company would indeed happen even after that.

“WWE press release: “The Company intends to undertake a review of its strategic alternatives with the goal being to maximize value for all WWE shareholders. There is no assurance that this process will result in a transaction”
