NJPW Confirms Antonio Inoki Biopic Is Coming Soon

NJPW has a rich history and Wrestle Kingdom 17 was a celebration of that. Before the show really kicked off, they had an even bigger announcement for fans.

Prior to the main card starting for Wrestle Kingdom 17, the company announced that a film about the late pro wrestling legend Antonio Inoki is coming soon. The title of this upcoming film was not given out at this time.

Antonio Inoki passed away on October 1st, 2022, and the pro wrestling world was deeply saddened by this loss. Now, fans will get a chance to see some of the history he was a part of thanks to this upcoming film.

Antonio Inoki was a pioneer in the world of professional wrestling. He founded NJPW in 1972, and it eventually became one of the most successful professional wrestling companies in the world.

We will have to see how good this movie is, but it’s likely to include a lot of history to appease pro wrestling fans. Only time will tell if this will be the kind of project that brings in a larger general audience to possibly convert even more fans to pro wrestling.
