Sasha Banks finally made her NJPW debut as Mercedes Mone, and the pro wrestling world can’t wait to see how it turns out. She immediately challenged the IWGP Women’s Champion, KAIRI, and now Mercedes Mone has some explaining to do.

During a press conference following NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event, Mercedes Mone was asked why KAIRI sane is her first opponent. She was quick to point out their history in the ring as the former Boss plugged their upcoming match.

“I’m interested in many wrestlers, but the reason I decided to fight KAIRI-san in the first place is because we have a ‘past.’ February 18th, San Jose, New Japan I think it will be the best match in Stardom history, so please look forward to it.”

Mercedes Mone has a lot of attention on her right now. This could be why fans made such a big deal of her botched finisher, the first move she ever performed at a NJPW event.
