Kenny Omega leaving NJPW left a huge hole in their roster, one they had to fill. Will Ospreay certainly stepped into a main event role, and Omega realizes that all too well.

While speaking to Fightful, Will Ospreay admitted that Kenny Omega was correct with one part of his dig. He said that Ospreay was “shoehorned” into the NJPW main event. In a way, Will Ospreay had to admit that The Cleaner was right.

“I think the one thing the one thing about me now is that I’ve finally matured. It’s taken like ten years.” I’ve become my own man now. I’m a front-runner in the United Empire.”

“There’s something that Kenny said in a New Japan interview that I was ‘shoehorned’ into a position after (Omega), the Bucks and Cody left to form AEW.

“To an extent, he is right. I was happy being a Junior Heavyweight.

The rivalry between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay certainly heated up in a big way. Only time will tell how it will go down when the two meet at the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom 17. This might only be another landmark in their ongoing story.
