FTR made their AEW debut in 2020 and haven’t looked back since. Shortly after making their AEW debut, they went on to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Over the next two years, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler would dominate the tag team division across multiple major promotions. That being said, they didn’t make everyone happy along the way.
While the fans were very happy to see FTR in AEW, it appears as if one AEW star wasn’t happy about the duo’s debut. Speaking on his podcast FTR, Dax Harwood mentioned that several wrestlers within AEW weren’t happy about FTR’s debut, including Jungle Boy Jack Perry.
“When me and Cash came into AEW, there weren’t very many people that were happy to see us there. For example, he and I’ve talked about it, but Jack Perry was not happy to see us because he thought that me and Cash were going to come in and change up his whole style and, and try to make him someone he’s not.
So, it’s not just CM Punk, it’s just whenever you have harmony and a locker room and things are going well, change is kind of hard for people. So yeah, there were a lot of people that were worried about it.”
It’s good that Jungle Boy and Dax Harwood were able to have a sit-down conversation and sort out any misunderstandings. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more coverage of such stories.
