Jeff Hardy joined AEW shortly after his WWE 90-day non-compete clause expired. However, his time with AEW has not gone as planned for him or the fans. Hardy signed with AEW in March, but by June, the former WWE World Champion had been arrested for DUI.
Following the arrest, AEW boss Tony Khan decided to suspend Jeff Hardy indefinitely, and The Charismatic Enigma has yet to return, despite the fact that it has been almost six months since the incident. Jeff’s brother Matt Hardy discussed the possibility of Jeff not returning to AEW while hosting his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast.
Just very unfortunate, things that happened with Jeff. Hopefully it is something that is, he is going to make into a positive and he’s going to turn everything around in his life and he can come back and be better and we’ll see. I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe he comes back, maybe he doesn’t. But, you know, we were scheduled to do all kinds of things during that summer.
Prior to Jeff Hardy’s suspension, the Hardys were set to compete in a three-way ladder match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks and Jurassic Express. Due to the suspension, the Hardys were eliminated, and The Young Bucks triumphed. Since the match, there have been rumors that the Hardys were supposed to win, which Matt revealed on his podcast.
Yeah, I think we were going to see the Hardys as the AEW World Tag Team Champions if Jeff didn’t suffer that very unfortunate twist of fate.
Let’s see when Jeff Hardy returns. We will keep you updated. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Ringside News.
