Dragon Lee is undoubtedly one of the most established and respected pro wrestlers on the planet. He recently revealed that he signed with WWE during AAA Noche de Campeones. Interestingly enough, WWE was not interested in Dragon Lee until AEW put him on television without a contract.

Dave Meltzer recently discussed the signing of Dragon Lee on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. He noted that WWE’s interest in Lee sparked when they noticed AEW put him on television without any contract. That was a major catalyst as WWE singed Dragon Lee soon after.

WWE’s interest in Dragon Lee came when they found out that AEW put this guy on television with no contract. So it was kind of like, ‘We can swoop in.’ They came after him after that deal. And right after that, he was signed, but he was signed a couple of weeks back. That was the catalyst of it. It was them finding out that AEW put a guy on television with no deal.

Dragon Lee’s in-ring style and skills have helped him amass a loyal fan base in the wrestling community. Over the past several weeks, there have been reports that Dragon Lee may be looking to sign with WWE.
