Tommaso Ciampa was one of the top stars in Triple H’s version of NXT. The Sicilian Psychopath moved to the main roster earlier this year and returned to his heel roots as part of his pairing with The Miz.

Ciampa was in the middle of building his momentum on Monday Night RAW when a nagging injury forced him to take a break from in-ring competition. The former NXT Champion had a successful surgery in October 2022.

Sean Sapp provided a backdrop into Ciampa’s injury from behind Fightful’s paywall. According to the update, the hip injury had been bothering him for nearly a year before the RAW superstar decided to go under the knife.

It remains to be seen if Tommaso Ciampa will return to action in 2023. The Psycho Killer was in a feud with Bobby Lashley over the United States Championship the last time they shard the ring.
