Tony Khan booked a TNT Championship defense on the last Dynamite of 2022. Samoa Joe put his title on the line against Wardlow, who had his knee destroyed by the Samoan Submission Machine during a backstage segment.
Joe retained the title after he made Wardlow pass out with a coquina clutch. The champion wasn’t done as he attacked Wardlow after the match. Joe laid out Wardlow by hitting him with the strap.
The double champion brought a pair of scissors from beneath the ring. Joe destroyed referee Paul Turner with a headbutt. He then cut off Wardlow’s ponytail with the scissors.
Darby Allin’s music hit and the daredevil took out Joe with a skateboard shot to the back. Darby then picked up the TNT title as Joe watched in shock and disgust to close out the show.
Samoa Joe had originally won the TNT Championship in a triple threat match, also involving Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs, at the Full Gear pay-per-view event on November 19, 2022.
Joe successfully defended the title against the likes of Darby Allin and AR Fox prior to his latest defense against Mr. Mayhem. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more from the world of pro wrestling.
