Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo Stripped Of AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles

Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo shocked the world with their AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship win at AAA at TripleMania XXX: Monterrey. Tonight, they lost their titles in a rather unconventional fashion.

Guevara and Melo were originally booked to defend the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship in a triple threat match at the AAA Noche de Campeones (Night of Champions) event tonight.

However, Tay Melo’s AEW Dynamite booking commitment coincided with the AAA event causing her to miss out on Mexico show. For those wondering, Melo tagged with Anna Jay against Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale on Dynamite tonight.

Guevara and Melo were stripped of their titles by Konnan, who made the announcement before the triple threat mixed tag title match. Abismo and Flammer took Guevara and Melo’s place in the match that also involved the teams of Octagón Jr. and Lady Shani and Komander and Sexy Star II.

Abismo and Flammer ended up winning the match, becoming the new AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions in the process. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more from the world of pro wrestling.
