WWE has produced popular television programs and live events throughout 2022. The WWE tour that followed the Christmas holiday comes to an end as 2022 closes. However, during this time period, the company is focusing on producing more and more live events.
According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, on December 26th, WWE held live events in place of television, but one of them turned out to be a logistical nightmare. Many WWE stars didn’t attend the live event in Columbus, Ohio, and those who showed up did so after it had already started. Several wrestlers had to hustle to even attend the event, including Alexa Bliss, Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch.
Additionally, The United States Championship matchup between Seth Rollins and Austin Theory was scheduled to take place today at the WWE Columbus live event. Sadly, Rollins was unable to attend the show. Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano were brought in to replace Rollins and Austin Theory in the main event.
WWE ran live events on December 26 instead of television, but one of them ended up being a logistical mess.
Several WWE talent missed the Columbus live event, with even more showing up late. Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and Alexa Bliss all missed the event, and several more had to rush to even make the show. Rollins was set to main event against Theory but was replaced by Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano.
Seth Rollins acknowledged that he had to cancel his trip in order to make the home concert at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
It should be noted, to give the production team extra time off, WWE decided against running a live, televised Raw. The Columbus, Ohio show would have been the affected WWE event if it had been shown on television. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more.
