WWE is marching towards the new year that starts with the onset of the road to the Grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. 2023’s two-night extravaganza will see some of the top WWE superstars compete under the bright lights of Hollywood, and there are some major spoilers for the main event for both nights.

It was heavily indicated that WrestleMania 39, being in Hollywood, will include the return of one of the biggest stars in the business, The Rock. The Great One is speculated to battle in the main event for the Undisputed WWE Universal title against his cousin, The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.

However, a new report by Wrestling News states that the current plan could see the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes challenge Roman Reigns, which in turn would see Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre as a part of the main event for the other night. Either way, it appears that Cody Rhodes will be a big factor in the company’s plan.

WWE is trying to get The Rock finalized to compete at WrestleMania 39 before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January 2023 as the Rumble night officially kicks off the Road to WrestleMania every year.

Ringside News reported months ago that The Rock is a virtual lock, but then we followed-up with another report to confirm that nothing has been finalized, because WWE’s creative team is pitching alternatives to The Rock.

WrestleMania 39 will take place at the So-Fi Stadium on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2.
