Drew McIntyre is currently one of the top Superstars in WWE and has garnered a huge fan following thanks to his passion for the business. McIntyre is a legitimate workhorse in WWE and almost never misses out on in-ring action, unless it is necessary. McIntyre has been out of action for a while, and now it seems WWE is being extra cautious with his return.
Drew McIntyre previously announced that he would not be participating in the scheduled Tag Team Championship match on SmackDown on December 9th. This is because McIntyre is on the shelf due to injury.
According to PW Insider, while Drew McIntyre might have been able to work the post-Christmas live events next week, officials are still being extra cautious with Drew McIntyre so that he’s “beyond 100%” ready to go when doctors do medically clear him.
It was noted that there is no word on when McIntyre will be returning to the squared circle. It was said that he even wanted to compete before he was pulled, but officials made the decision to keep him on the shelf for his own good.
Drew McIntyre was set to partner up with Kevin Owens, Sheamus and Braun Strowman to face The Bloodline in eight-man tag team action at Monday’s MSG event. However, the main event was changed to Owens and Strowman vs. Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, The Usos. We’ll have to see when McIntyre will return to WWE.
