Sasha Banks expressed her frustration with Vince McMahon’s booking by walking out on the company in the middle of Monday Night RAW on May 16, 2022. The Boss negotiated her exit with WWE in the months the followed her exit. She was also unhappy that she was being paid less than Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

According to Teddy Long, Sasha Banks’ pay controversy might’ve stemmed from an internal issue. The former SmackDown General Manager provided his take on the subject during an appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s One On One podcast,

“It could be some inside thing we may not even know about that was keeping her from getting that kind of money. So I just don’t know what to tell you, man. Maybe the guy who was there, Laurinaitis, maybe he got something to do with it, too. So you just never know.”

New Japan Pro Wrestling is giving Sasha Banks a lot of money to appear at the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 17 event. The Boss arrived in Japan ahead of NJPW’s biggest wrestling event of the year. It remains to be seen if Sasha Banks will appear in flesh on January 4, 2023.
