AEW’s women’s division has some of the most exciting stars performing each week on their television programming. However, there has been one star missing from the action for quite a while, Thunder Rosa. A recent report suggests that Rosa was present backstage on an AEW show, with a tentative timetable for her return.

Thunder Rosa was the reigning AEW Women’s World champion at the time of her injury. She won the title from Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D in a grueling steel cage match on a special edition of AEW Dynamite St. Patrick’s Day Slam in March 2022, in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Recently, she was seen hanging around backstage at another show taking place in her hometown.

According to a new report by PW Insider, Thunder Rosa was spotted backstage last night on the December 21st edition of AEW Dynamite. The show took place in her hometown of Texas, with the word making rounds that the former Women’s champion is not expected to make a full-fledged return to the ring until February or March 2023.

Thunder Rosa’s extended absence led to her relinquishing the title and Toni Storm’s interim reign being changed to an official reign. Another report suggested that Tony Khan made the decision due to Rosa being the champion and not performing inside the squared circle for quite too long.
