Impact Wrestling has a roster full of stars, and they want to lock certain ones down in a big way. Now, we know that the former TNA has secured Rich Swann’s services for another couple of years.
Rich Swann was one of the highlights of WWE’s Cruiserweight Division, becoming the champion and always entertaining fans with his immense athleticism. Be that as it may, he was eventually released by WWE after domestic battery charges, which were eventually dismissed for being false. Swann eventually made his way to Impact Wrestling after that. Now it seems he agreed to a contract extension with the company.
Rich Swann made his way to Impact Wrestling in June 2018 after being released by WWE in February 2018. In the years since, he has seen huge success, bagging both the Impact World and X-Division Championships.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Rich Swann officially announced that he has signed a two-year extension with Impact Wrestling, choosing to stick with the company for a while longer.
“I’ve signed a two-year deal with IMPACT Wrestling. They have done nothing but treat me with the utmost respect. It’s been a place to where I’ve been able to grow, I’ve been able to watch other competitors grow and I’ve been able to watch the company grow into a spot to where it should be. Right now, there is so much of everything in all forms of entertainment. Wrestling, right now, is prospering.
AEW is doing great, WWE has turned around and doing great. IMPACT Wrestling, the experience I’ve had, ever since I started in 2018, has been nothing but love, nothing but proposing and watching the company grow into what it is today. To be part of that and helping that after all the years of people saying, ‘IMPACT is going to die, TNA is dead,’ to be part of that and helping the company to where it is today, that makes me feel good and lets me know that I’m doing something right in this industry.”
Rich Swann is currently set to square off against Steve Maclin on the December 22 episode of Impact Wrestling television. We will have to wait and see whether Swann will eventually become a Grand Slam Champion in Impact Wrestling, as that seems to be his goal for 2023.
