NJPW’s biggest event of the year, Wrestle Kingdom 17, is set to take place at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th, 2023. One of the biggest matches on the card is the Never Openweight Title bout between WWE Superstar Karl Anderson and Tama Tonga. This will be the first time that a WWE contracted Superstar will appear on the show.
Although Karl Anderson will defend his title with Gallows by his side, Tama Tonga extended an invitation to his stable’s leader to show up to Wrestle Kingdom via Twitter. He wouldn’t mind seeing AJ Styles show up as well.
“AJ can come too. He can watch me smash his boy. ( still got love for you #PhenomenalOne ) #Wrestlekingdom17 – January 4, 2023 #AndNew #NeverOpenWeightChampion.”
Wrestle Kingdom 17 will be the second time that these two men will face each. The first time was when Karl Anderson defeated Tama Tonga for the Never Openweight Championship. We will have to wait and see if Anderson will be able to retain his title at Wrestle Kingdom. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we keep you updated on the news surrounding the event.
