Jeff Jarrett made a name for himself in his father’s USWA promotion before joining WWE in 1992. Double J competed in Ted Turner’s WCW as well. Jarrett co-founded NWA TNA with his father in 2002. His tenure in the now Impact Wrestling saw him reunite with former WWE writer Vince Russo.
It appears that Jarrett and Russo’s relationship is not the smoothest at the moment. Russo has previously claimed that Double J worked him. The former Intercontinental Champion addressed his alleged differences with Russo during the latest episode of My World with Jeff Jarrett.
Jarrett dissected the whole situation with Russo, noting that the former NWA TNA creative writer believes every word that comes out of his mouth. The AEW star claimed that Russo has “serious mental health issues.” Here’s an excerpt from Jarrett’s response.
“Candidly, he’s got serious, serious, and I’m speaking from experience, he’s got serious mental health issues. There’s no doubt in my mind, and I’ve said it for years.”
Tony Khan brought Jarrett in to assist with AEW live events, and Double J hopes that announcement is made soon. Check out Jarrett’s full response to Vince Russo’s rant here:
