Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson remains one of the biggest names in pro wrestling as well as in Hollywood. The Rock has truly done it all when it comes to both professional wrestling and Hollywood. However, recent events have made fans see him in a different light. This is because he ended up unfollowing both the Black Adam and Warner Bros. Discovery Instagram accounts and, in turn, somehow being responsible for Henry Cavill leaving his role as Superman.
As previously reported, James Gunn is making huge changes to DC. It began earlier this week that Henry Cavill will no longer be playing Superman in future films now that the DCEU will be getting a full-blown reboot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was reported that Dwayne Johnson was supportive of Cavill’s return to the role of Superman, as Johnson hoped for an eventual Black Adam vs. Superman movie. However, ‘Black Adam’ earned only $389 million worldwide and was not the commercial success The Rock claimed it to be.
This inadvertently had an effect on the future of Superman, who appeared at the end of ‘Black Adam.’ An industry observer is quoted as saying that “In the end, [Henry Cavill] was a pawn in Dwayne’s failed attempt to control a piece of DC.”
We’ll see if Rock continues to do superhero films in the future, as it seems unlikely now. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more.
