Vince McMahon shocked the WWE universe earlier this year when he announced his retirement from the company, thereby handing over the reigns to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. A couple of months later, WWE shocked the wrestling community again when news broke regarding Mandy Rose’s firing.
While the reason for Vince McMahon’s firing and Mandy Rose’s resignation are totally different. McMahon retired due to a hush money scandal, and Mandy Rose was fired when her premium paywall content got too NSFW. Kevin Nash was still able to draw a comparison when it came to both departures on his Kliq This podcast.
“It comes down to the absolute loss on a daily basis of more and more freedoms.” He continued, “It wasn’t like he was filming the sex acts he was having,” Nash continued. “That was between consenting adults. I think it’s apples and oranges.”
Kevin Nash continued to say that he believes her actions crossed the line only if her wrestling attire or title were involved while also questioning what makes someone an independent contractor.
“If she’s her, and I guarantee you the check that gets paid to that person is not to the wrestling name. I think that’s the thing. You’re either an independent contractor or you’re not.”
While many fans don’t mind Vince McMahon’s exit, there are several fans who are still upset over Mandy Rose’s firing almost a week later. Will the support of the NXT fans be enough to persuade WWE into re-signing Mandy? We will have to wait and see.
