AEW has a long list of talent under contract, but they don’t sign everyone to full time deals. A lot of talent are under per appearances contracts. That is the case with one star who recently returned.
Stu Grayson was one of the founding members of AEW’s The Dark Order faction. Things did not bode well for The Dark Order this year after Colt Cabana went AWOL, Preston Vance defected to La Faccion Igobernable, and Stu Grayson left AEW after his contract expired in May. Although fans were given hope after seeing Stu Grayson return, it seems they would have to hold their breath.
The other founding member of The Dark Order, Evil Uno, appeared in an interview with Fightful and confirmed that Grayson is not back in AEW but remains on good terms with the promotion. Uno continued, stating that Grayson is currently concentrating more on teaching than wrestling, and has made a concerted effort to pay more attention to his private life.
The Dark Order made their surprise debut at AEW Double or Nothing PPV on May 25th, 2019. After the match between The Best Friends and TH2 was over, Grayson and Uno appeared and started attacking with the help of masked henchmen. Those creepers went away, but the stable stayed around for a while.
After leaving AEW, Stu Grayson stated he would be taking on indie bookings. When he makes his AEW return is up in the air, but it’s great to know he’s focusing on himself. For more updates, stay tuned to Ringside News.
