WWE’s biggest show of the year will go down on April 1st and 2nd in SoFi Stadium, but the card is far from locked into place. Roman Reigns is the current top dog in Vince McMahon’s former company, and he needs an incredible match to go with his Tribal Chief moniker. That being said, WWE is still working on his match on the grandest stage of them all.
Ringside News exclusively reported in June that The Rock was a virtual lock for WrestleMania 39. Although those plans seemed to be coming along, nothing was 100%. Now, WWE creative is coming up with a Plan B.
Ringside News was told by a tenured source within the company that WWE creative is “pitching alternatives” for Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania match. It was also made very clear that no contract for that match has been made official yet, and any report saying The Rock is 100% locked in is “irresponsible.”
There are a few ideas going around for Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania match, but nothing is in stone yet. Obviously, this will change in the upcoming weeks, because the Royal Rumble event on January 28th will likely feature some huge momentum on the Road to WrestleMania.
The Rock has an incredibly busy schedule, with new, big-money, projects getting presented to him all the time. Dwayne Johnson has a lot of demand for his time, but he obviously has a desire to make it back to WWE for some kind of involvement. Only time will tell what they can work out.
