John Cena will return to SmackDown for another episode on December 30th. WWE wants to get the most out of Cena because his participation already generated a significant amount of ticket sales. Following his unexpected appearance on the SmackDown episode of December 16th, John Cena’s upcoming match will continue a remarkable run.

John Cena made a video appearance on Friday’s broadcast to reveal that he will partner with Kevin Owens on the SmackDown edition airing on December 30th. The final WWE TV event of 2022 will pit Cena and Owens versus Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn.

Prior to John Cena’s unexpected arrival on this week’s broadcast, we were unaware that Cena would be participating in any matches. However, it had been previously reported that the 16-time World Champion would be present for this event.

This will be John Cena’s first match in 2022, because he last competed on WWE television at SummerSlam 2021, when he made an unsuccessful challenge for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship.

After the December 30th episode of SmackDown, John Cena will have competed for WWE every year since making his main roster debut in 2002 after the December 30 show. Ringside News exclusively reported that Vince McMahon gave John Cena his blessing to work for WWE as much as he can.

It should be interesting to note that exactly 20 years after making his WWE SmackDown debut against Kurt Angle in 2002, John Cena last appeared on WWE television during the June 27 episode of Raw. Fans are surely excited for Cena’s next match. Meanwhile, stay tuned to Ringside News for more.
