John Cena is one of the most prominent names in professional wrestling to have successfully made a transition to Hollywood. That being said, Cena’s WWE days are not yet entirely in the past. He is a very busy man, and that could get in the way of his WrestleMania plans.

On December 9th, WWE announced that John Cena will make an appearance on Friday Night SmackDown on December 30th. This will be Cena’s first appearance on WWE since Raw back in June, where he celebrated the 20th anniversary of his WWE debut.

This announcement has led many fans to wonder if Cena might also make an appearance on WrestleMania 39. Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Cena’s appearance could possibly set up a storyline.

“Cena will be on the 12/30 Smackdown show in Tampa. If he’s going to do Mania or Rumble, that would in theory be the start of the angle. He won’t be available most of February and March due to movie work.”

That being said, fans were also advised to exercise caution. Since John Cena will be shooting a film with Zac Efron in February and March, his schedule could conflict with WrestleMania.

Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE and John Cena were talking about a possible WrestleMania 39 appearance. Vince McMahon also gave his blessing for Cena to show up on WWE television as often as he can.

While it does seem like John Cena will be pretty busy during WrestleMania season, an appearance is not entirely out of the question. Here’s hoping that fans get to enjoy Cena’s presence in the ring.
