Kevin Owens Pitched For Match Against Shawn Michaels

WWE is known to book legends in a one-off match, but Shawn Michaels seems very happy in his current position. HBK is Vice President of Talent Development, and he runs NXT. That didn’t stop Kevin Owens from trying to get an epic match with the Showstopper.

Kevin Owens got his dream match against Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38. It seems that he is still trying to check huge names off that bucket list.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, Kevin Owens pitched to have a match against Shawn Micahaels to HBK himself. Obviously, HBK is very busy right now, so it didn’t work out just yet. It was noted that Michaels told Owens that he has considered wrestling again. Of course, Owens isn’t the only Superstar who has tried to score a match against the Heartbreak Kid.

Michaels told Owens that he’d be lying if he didn’t think about doing another match, especially when he saw the kind of match that Steve Austin had with Kevin Owens at WrestleMania this year. However, he also said that he doesn’t think he should.

AJ Styles had also once pitched a match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania that got turned down. Michaels did come out of retirement for a WWE Crown Jewel tag team match that he told numerous people was the biggest payday of his career. Fightful’s Jimmy Van had actually heard the one-match number for that was in the neighborhood of $3 million.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Kevin Owens. WWE might have some massive WrestleMania plans for him next time around again. Only time will tell if Shawn Michaels ever wrestles again, but if the itch starts to get to him, HBK won’t have any trouble finding a ring.
