Asuka has accomplished a lot of things in WWE since her debut back in 2016. This includes becoming a multi-time women’s champion and carrying the women’s division during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Asuka has been hinting at a huge change in her character since last week. After what transpired on this week’s RAW, it seems Asuka might be going on a hiatus for a while.

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, The Empress Of Tomorrow squared off against Rhea Ripley in a singles match. What’s interesting about Asuka’s appearance was that she didn’t wear any face paint, the first time she ever did so since joining WWE.

Unfortunately for Asuka, she was unable to defeat The Eradicator, despite her best efforts and misting Dominik Mysterio. Asuka was clearly frustrated after her crushing loss. Following RAW’s conclusion, Asuka took to Twitter and hinted at taking a break from WWE television, as the former RAW Women’s Champion stated that she will be going on a trip.

Asuka has been teasing a huge gimmick change by reverting back to her old character Kana for the past week or so. We will have to wait and see how long Asuka will be away from WWE television. Odds are, she won’t be absent for a long time.
