Shawn Michaels Has Never Been Denied A Request To Use WWE Main Roster Superstar In NXT

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has done a lot for the business, both as a competitor and in a backstage role in NXT. In fact, Michaels has been very hands-on when it comes to how NXT talent are booked and developed. It seems Michaels has never been denied a main roster ask for NXT either.

NXT is a proving ground for future WWE main roster talent. However, a lot of established main roster talent have worked there lately. This includes Dolph Ziggler, AJ Styles, Natalya and The New Day.

While speaking during the post-NXT Deadline press conference, Shawn Michaels revealed that when it comes to him asking if a main roster Superstar can compete in NXT, he has never been denied a request. That being said, he isn’t asking for Roman Reigns or Sheamus to work Tuesday nights.

I keep my asks pretty conservative, it’s not like I can be like ‘Hey, can we get Roman down here for a couple of rounds?’ Right now, I don’t think there’s been anybody that I’ve asked about, has been a no. I’ll be honest, I try to be conservative and not take advantage of the friendship like ‘Hey buddy [Triple H].’ I try to see who it is, and maybe they’re not doing too much with at the moment or someone who has maybe been off for a little bit, and they’re looking to come back, and they can get their feet wet there and get a dry run here and can go back.

The New Day became the new NXT Tag Team Champions, and fans couldn’t be happier about that fact. Regardless, we will have to wait and see which main roster stars will make their way to NXT somewhere down the line.
