Sasha Banks’ Wrestle Kingdom 17 Status Was Not Known Within NJPW

Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out in the middle of Raw back in May, and this led to a lot of changes in the following months. Even now, their WWE future is a huge topic of discussion, as many feel they are done with the company. It is believed Banks will be at Wrestle Kingdom 17, but it seems an NJPW insider has heard nothing about this.

The former RAW Women’s Champion erased all traces of her WWE identity from all her social media handles. That was just the beginning, as she went on to keep herself busy with projects outside WWE.

It was previously reported that Sasha Banks is expected to be at Wrestle Kingdom 17. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that even an NJPW insider hasn’t heard anything about Banks appearing at Wrestle Kingdom 17.

I mean, there’s nobody there that knew anything about it, which is not to say — he’s probably right. I mean, including some big insiders. The only thing I did get when asking around is that the winner of the Tokyo Dome, I believe their next title defense will be in San Jose.

A possible location for Banks’ NJPW appearance is also under consideration. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether Banks will indeed make her way to NJPW or not.
