Carlito made his shocking return during last year’s Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. It was his first appearance inside a WWE ring in over a decade as well. In fact, Carlito recalled that WWE canceled his appearance on RAW last year for a good reason.

Carlito was released by WWE back in 2010, and he was largely seen as a Superstar who could not live up to expectations. This came after a nice run with the company, one where Carlito’s coolness was on full display.

While speaking during a recent appearance on the K & S WrestleFest virtual signing, Carlito recalled WWE nixing his plans to be on RAW Legends Night.

I was supposed to do the Legends Night a couple of weeks before that and then they canceled me and said, ‘No, we’d rather have you in the Rumble’ […] Yeah, it was great. What sucked was people [fans] not being there. People don’t even know if I exist now… So yeah, it would have been cool to be in front of a WWE crowd again but, other than that, it was pretty fun.

While Carlito didn’t have the best of times in WWE, he is still grateful for working there. It is unlikely he’ll be back to the company anytime soon, but you never know what can happen in pro wrestling.
