The Rock is perhaps one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. From being a kid who had only seven dollars left in his pocket at one point to becoming the highest paid actor in Hollywood, The Great One has certainly come a long way. However, back in the day, The Rock admitted to taking steroids to build his physique.
The People’s Champion gained massive success in WWE during the Attitude Era. He became the golden goose for Vince McMahon’s company alongside his long-time rival, Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Rock further transitioned to Hollywood in 2004 and conquered the world of acting with his talent and hard work.
The Rock is also known for his amazing physical stature that he has built with discipline, long hours in the gym and well-maintained balanced diet. However, a less-than fact about The Rock, as disclosed by himself, is that he did take steroids at one point in his life. In a now-deleted interview with MTV, while promoting his movie Race to Witch Mountain in 2009, The Rock revealed that he tried steroids during his teenage days.
“I tried it… Me and my buddies tried it back in the day when I was 18 or 19. Didn’t know what we were doing,”
The Rock continues to maintain that his physique has been natural ever since. The 10-time World Champion is heavily rumored to return to in-ring action against his cousin, Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39, taking place in Hollywood.
