Kofi Kingston is one of the most exciting and gifted athletes in WWE. Kofi’s dynamic personality, consistent evolution, and in-ring style has made him a beloved WWE superstar of this generation. It looks like he might make history this weekend, should he and Xavier Woods win the NXT Tag Team championships.

Kofi Kingston made his WWE debut back in January 2008 on WWE’s ECW brand. He went on to achieve singles success, winning various championships. Kofi, along with Big E and Xavier Woods, formed the most charismatic faction of all time, The New Day. The stable gained massive success as a unit, winning a total of 11 WWE Tag Team titles.

The former WWE Champion himself is an overall 14-time tag team champion in WWE, a record he holds with Edge and Booker T. Kingston and Xavier Woods are scheduled to challenge Pretty Deadly at this Saturday’s NXT Deadline for the NXT Tag Team championships. If both of them are successful in dethroning the champions, Kofi will make history by breaking the all-time record for the most tag team title wins, making him a 15-time tag team champion.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods made a surprise appearance at this week’s edition of NXT interrupting Pretty Deadly’s segment and immediately challenged them to a title match at NXT Deadline. A win for the New Day members would add another Tag Team championship to their showcase of titles that has been missing until now.
