CM Punk’s run in WWE came to a shocking conclusion after the Royal Rumble in 2014 when he was frustrated with the company, leading him to simply walk out. He didn’t compete in a ring for seven years until his AEW debut last year. His status in AEW remains in doubt right now, but it seems he hinted at returning to WWE in a recent post.
CM Punk was the subject of controversy earlier this year, and things took a turn for the worse after the brawl at AEW All Out. Since then, fans have wondered whether Punk will leave AEW and somehow return to WWE.
Amid all the speculation, the Second City Saint took to his Instagram stories and uploaded a photo from his early days in WWE, most notably back in 2008. It is anyone’s guess whether Punk is actually serious or if he is simply trolling fans.
What’s very interesting is that Luke Gallows appeared in the Titantron behind CM Punk, as Festus. Gallows just recently returned to WWE to re-join AJ Styles alongside Karl Anderson to re-form The OC.
CM Punk’s possible WWE return is also greatly opposed within the company. Triple H was also strongly warned against signing CM Punk. Regardless, we’ll have to see what will become of CM Punk in the end.
