WWE surely wants The Rock and Roman Reigns to have a match at WrestleMania. However, as Ringside News exclusively reported, WWE is in talks with The Rock. Now, Young Rock has given us a hint about the match-up in one of its episodes.
A new clue of The Rock’s WWE future was found in the December 2nd episode of Dwayne Johnson’s biography show Young Rock on NBC. The Rock can be seen passing by a trophy case with awards from his wrestling career in one of those future sequences. One of them included a WWE Universal Championship, which he has never won.
Reigns is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion after unifying the WWE and Universal Titles at WrestleMania 38. The scene showed the big eagle WWF Championship and the WWE Undisputed Championship. However, the WWE Universal Title’s presence in the series sparks questions and speculations.
Future events shown in Young Rock’s scenarios are by no means a guarantee of what will actually take place. However, the mention of the WWE Universal Title is a possible indication that Rock will challenge Reigns for the blue strap. Beyond that, the show has already hinted at a match between Rock and Reigns.
In an earlier episode, a young Reigns tries to wrestle Rock at a gathering of the Anoa’i family. “Come on Dewey, let’s wrestle!” Reigns told his older cousin.
“No, the world is not ready!” Rock responds. “A match that big can happen only at WrestleMania.”
As Ringside News exclusively reported, The Rock is a “virtual lock” for the 39th annual show of shows. Only time will tell how WWE makes that happen.
